From 1969 to 2013, the property at 1218 Wisconsin Avenue belonged to Third Edition, a beloved bar frequented by Georgetown students made famous for its appearance in the film "St.Elmo's Fire" as well as its scores of drinks made in the late '80's by legendary bartender Chris Howley (who inspired the film "Cocktail").
The Third Edition was also the site of a famous ill-fated negotiation on February 11th, 1989, between a short-tempered bouncer and an overserved Georgetown senior that culminated with the latter taking a tumble down the establishment's infamous staircase. The bouncer was likely wearing a snazzy black polo much like this one that features the iconic "Third Edition" logo, lamppost and all.
A portion of all sales of this product will be donated to the Georgetown Scholars Program on behalf of the Class of 1989.
