When examining an old photo of Saxa Sundries recently, we noticed this t-shirt hanging in the corner. Was it for sale? Was it someone's street clothes who was working a shift? Either way, it's clearly a nod to the famous ad campaign from Georgetown's neighboring state. Used since 1969,"Viriginia is for Lovers" has become a well-recognized and often imitated part of American jargon. In 2012, Advertising Age called it one of the most iconic ad campaigns in the past 50 years.
A portion of all sales of this product will be donated to the Georgetown Scholars Program on behalf of the Class of 1989.
